Testing the QuadCruise and SpeedSafe Cruise Control Systems
Most ATV and Side x Side owners enjoy recreational riding and some are hooked on the thrill of competition, but it’s the ability to transform into extremely capable work machines that has put one on every farm and job site in the country. Wherever there is something to haul, tow, or cut that doesn’t fit a tractor or full blown dump truck you can bet an ATV or Side x Side is ready to tackle the job.
You’ve got hunting buddies, work buddies, and riding buddies but nobody is ever going to be as important to you as the buddy who has your back when a dedicated enemy is shooting at your front. In military terms they’ve got your six and what it means is you can depend on your buddy at all times, every time. It’s a lifelong bond like no other.
Riding across the desert, often times you’ll come upon little tornadoes called dust devils. When strapped inside the Can-Am Maverick X3 you ARE the tornado.
RAISING THE BAR
At Can-Am's dealer show we got a quick look and a couple test laps on a high-performance machine like no other. The new Maverick X3 didn’t just raise the bar for high-performance machines, it bounced it off the rev limiter. A quick rundown of the specs was highly impressive:
It’s hard enough to keep the battery in your ATV, truck, or Side x Side fully charged in the summer much less in the deep cold of winter. Batteries sure aren’t what they used to be! With a little preventative maintenance though you can keep your engine cranking. We’ll show you how.
Cold Weather Tips for You and Your ATV or Side-x-Side
Just because the weather turns cold doesn’t mean we have to stop riding. It’s a blast to slide through the snow and there is always work to be done hauling wood or pushing snow out of the drive. We might even get a little late season hunting, but just like your hunting gear has to be ready for winter, so does your ATV or Side x Side. Here are the tricks we use to make the most of any winter riding.
If Magellan had owned one of the GPS systems named after him, he would have never built a reputation as a legendary navigator. Instead he would have been known to history simply as “Ferdinand - the guy who drives the boat.” The new Magellan eXplorist TRX7 GPS system is so easy anyone can complete a treacherous crossing, at least on land anyway. You almost want to get lost just to turn it on.
Tucked away between the majestic mountains of Lee County, Virginia is a quaint little town called Pennington Gap. What began with the tobacco and coal mining industries, today it seems a place where time has stood still or at least slowed down a bit and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Testing the Haul-It-All Bear Track Utility Trailer
It goes without saying that it’s good for all of us and a great feeling to buy products made in the ‘ole USA. Buying from home means we are helping skilled workers put meals on the tables of American families just like ours. Of course the bottom line when making a purchase is always quality and price, and recently we’ve been using a trailer that provides both.
All That's New in Powersports Under One Giant Roof
There are few trade shows on the planet that can rival the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show which is held in Las Vegas. It’s beyond huge and fills the floor space of six Las Vegas sized convention centers and their parking lots with everything from tools, to tires. High-end supercars, custom builds, Mad-Max style creations, and ATVs can be found. There is even a power sports pavilion where hot new products that will soon find their way to trails near you make their debut.
Nobody is ever going to hand you a trophy for plowing the snow out of the driveway. The best you can hope for is a warm drink and a kiss from your significant other, and with any luck a few days off before you’re forced back outside to fight winter back again. At least you’ve got one of the best tools ever for getting the job done.
