Changing the tires on your ATV or Side x Side is a great opportunity to upgrade with a tire that better fits your needs. We use our Polaris RZR 900 for trails that range from loose sand, to rocky, former railroad grades, and for prowling around the woods.

Tech Tips - Braking News

Proper Brake Maintenance

Brakes are quite possibly the most overlooked system on an ATV or SXS. We take them for granted because they usually work when we squeeze the lever or step on the pedal. But over time, our brakes will lose their feel and performance. Since it happens slowly, we often don’t realize how bad they’re getting. Routine maintenance is very important to proper brake function, and unfortunately, throwing on a new set of pads won’t necessarily restore all of the lost performance.

The term is “economy of scale”. What it means to a manufacturer like Honda, Kawasaki, or Can-Am is getting the most out of their design, tooling, and testing dollars by using the same parts on as many different models as possible. In the ATV world no manufacturer takes that concept to heart more than Polaris. It’s a good bet that if you own any given Polaris ATV or Side x Side there will be a bunch of parts that are found on several other models as well.

Your tires and bodywork aren’t the only thing that can get a little scuffed up or punctured on the trail, so can your hide. Riders often put a huge amount of thought and effort into selecting the right wheels, skid plates, and all manner of parts for their machine, but almost no effort into a first aid kit to patch up any medical emergency either they or a riding partner might encounter.

You don’t have to look far to find a great riding area in Pennsylvania, and one of the best is Rock Run Recreation Area near Patton. At 6500 acres sitting on former coal mining property, it’s big, it’s got plenty to do for all outdoor lovers, and it can be challenging.

Because a Great Rack is a Good Thing

Practically every ATV comes with some storage and a rack system. It’s an incredibly useful tool! Not all racks are created equal though and the manufacturers have to balance fender protection with load handling capability needed by the average user. Like most riders we use our ATVs for everything from hauling rocks to hunting season and a better rack system would surely help.

Engineers call it “fresh eyes.” What the term means is a new perspective on any project or problem without any preconceived notion of what the answer should be. Often times a creative new solution can be crafted and the results can be spectacular.

SURECAN-DO!

Improving an Old Tool

There are some tools that we wouldn’t think could be improved upon in many ways. Tire irons are pretty simplistic, our baseball mitt is still just leather and laces, and as long as our gas can doesn’t leak all over the back of the truck or our foot, we never think about it. The trouble is, it does nearly every time. Still, there didn’t seem to be a lot one could do to improve on a plastic jug with a hose on the top. That is until the SURECAN people took on the problem and came up with a much better solution.

Buckshot Racing Builds a Desert Car Like No Other

Every machine on the dealer’s floor is a compromise. When the manufacturers build a new model, it must meet the needs of riders from all areas of the country, and what works on the twisty, tree lined trails of Hatfield-McCoy isn’t exactly perfect for the wide open deserts of Arizona.

There is a new player in the Side x Side market. Bad Boy Buggy is officially releasing an all-new model aimed squarely at the hard working and hard playing segment which has been dominated by models like the John Deere Gator, Polaris Ranger, and as of late, Can-Am’s new Defender. The best description of this category would be “recreational-utility” as owners use their machines for everything from tasks around the farm, yard, and job site to weekend trail rides and treks to deer camp or a favorite fishing hole.
