Discount Tire opens 5 Midwest stores

logo.2013.discount-tire.jpgSCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Dec. 23, 2014) — Discount Tire/America’s Tire opened five stores in three Midwest states in October and November, expanding the retailer’s network to 898 stores in 27 states.

The newest store openings — in Evansville, Ind., St. Charles, Ill., and Avon, Beaver Creek and Parma Heights, Ohio — bring to 23 the number of locations Discount Tire has opened in 2014. All the stores are 7,370 square feet in size.

The store in Evansville is the dealership’s second in that city and 25th in the Hoosier state. Nick Reynolds, an 11-year Discount Tire veteran, manages the new store and its 14 employees.

The store in St. Charles is Discount Tire’s 36th in Illinois. Matt Jirsa, a company veteran of 13 years, manages the store, which has 15 employees.

The new stores in Ohio are the dealership’s 15th, 16th and 17th in the Buckeye state. Avon and Parma Heights are innortheast Ohio, where Discount Tire opened its first store in 2013.

Beaver Creek is a suburb of Dayton in southwest Ohio; the rest of the firm's Ohio stores are located in central and southwest Ohio.

Chris Sallie, a Discount Tire employee for 16 years, manages the Parma Heights store and its 14 employees.

Five-year company veteran Chris Barnier manages the Avon store and its nine employees.

Andrew Jessers, a 13-year Discount Tire veteran, manages the Beaver Creek store and its 13 employees.

Scottsdale-based Discount Tire did not disclose its investment in the new stores.
