ITP Racers Tally 19 Podiums at Sunset Ridge ATV MX

Ontario, California, June 18, 2015  Team ITP tires recorded seven class wins and 19 podiums at round six of the 2016 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship Series in Illinois. ITP Pro Jeffrey Rastrelli took fifth in the ATV Pro class, while Westley Wolfe and six others posted class victories at Sunset Ridge MX. 


Supplied with traction from the ITP QuadCross MX tires on his No. 88 Root River Racing / Motowoz Honda, Alex Gillette won the 450 B class with an impressive 1-1 moto scorecard at round six in Illinois.
“Despite the mud, it was a very nice weekend for our sponsored racers, including Pro class racer Jeffrey Rastrelli, who got back in the top five after not being able to compete in the main races at the last round.” said Pat McGuire, Public Relations / Race Support. “Seven amateur-class wins and almost 20 podiums keeps sending the message that ITP is serious about traction and winning more national championships.”  


Jeffrey Rastrelli, who didn’t start at the previous round due to a crash, had a good showing in the Pro class at Sunset Ridge MX, taking fifth overall aboard his JB Racing / Can-Am dressed in ITP QuadCross MX tires.

Round six of the 2015 Mtn. Dew ATV MX National Championship series, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, headed to the Midwest and Sunset Ridge MX, a 1.6-mile motocross track surrounded by farm fields. ITP racers had a good showing, securing 19 podiums, seven of which were class overall wins in spite of sporadic downpours and muddy conditions on SaturdaySunday’s action, including the Pro-Am class races, was canceled due to the poor weather.

ITP-backed Pro class racer Jeffrey Rastrelli notched his fourth top-five finish of the season to gain some points in his chase for a top-five overall finish this season. The JB Racing / Can-Am / ITP Pro, who has one podium this year, sits just 13 points out of fifth place heading to round seven in Minnesota.


Westley Wolfe, who also competes for ITP in the Grand National Cross Country series, earned two “A” class victories in Illinois.

Westley Wolfe won both the 450 A and Production A classes aboard his No. 741 Honda outfitted with ITP QuadCross MX 2 fronts and QuadCross MX Pro rears. “Factory” Sam Rowe took his Root River Racing, Rage ATV and Pepsi-backed Honda, outfitted with ITP tires, to second in the Pro Sport (Pro-Am). 

Alex Gillette had a good showing in Illinois. He earned his first overall win of the year in the 450 B class and also finished second overall in the Production B class. Megan Manshack recorded her fifth consecutive Women’s class win to expand her points lead. Niamh Shaw, who competed in the Schoolgirl (13-17) class at Walnut, posted her second victory of the season aboard her Kawasaki dressed in ITP tires. Johanna Vossman joined Shaw on the Schoolgirl podium, taking third. The two racers are currently 1-2 in the class standings.

Peyton Zimmerman (Zimmerman Racing / Makson / FTR No. 721 Honda) expanded his points lead in the Youth All Star (13-15) class with another win. He also scored a solid third-place finish in the Super Mini (12-15) class aboard his No. 721 Suzuki. Brogan Guyer notched one class win in the 90 Shifter (12-15) class and also earned third in the 90 Open Sr. 12-15 class. 

Veteran racer Mike Barnhardt put his No. 19 Root River Racing / Honda on two podiums (his first of the year) at round six. The Minnesota racer took second in both the Junior 25+ and Vet 30+ classes as a tune-up prior to racing in his home state at the next round. Haedyn Mickelson (second, 450 A), Lucas Lamons (third, Junior 25+), Brandon O’Neill (second, 90 Open Sr. 12-15; third, 90 Shifter 12-15) and Jordan Digby (second, 90 Shifter 12-15) also tallied podium finishes for ITP in Illinois. 


Peyton Zimmerman scored two class podiums, one of which was the overall win in the Youth All Star (13-15) class, at Sunset Ridge MX.

Round seven of the Mtn. Dew ATV MX National Championship Series is June 27-28, at Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minn.
