Shorai LFX™ Batteries Chosen As Official Battery for Seebold Ngk Race Team at the Seattle Seafair F1 Boat Race

logo.2013.shorai.jpgWHAT: Shorai Inc., a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of prismatic cell, lithium iron phosphate power sports batteries, was named the battery of choice by the Seebold NGK Race Team for the upcoming Seattle Seafair F1 Boat Race. Tim Seebold will be racing his Formula 1 tunnel boat at the event taking place on Lake Washington in Seattle, Wash., August 2 – 4, 2013.

Seebold recently won his second straight U.S. F1 Powerboat Tour victory in Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada with Shorai LFX™ batteries powering his race boat. The Seebold NGK Race Team will again have an advantage using Shorai’s LFX™ batteries weighing approximately eighteen pounds less than its traditional lead acid competitors at this weekend’s event. Known for their motorcycle and power sports applications, Shorai has made its entrance into the marine industry as the first lithium iron battery option available for marine vessels. Unlike traditional lead acid batteries most commonly found in marine engines, Shorai’s LFX™ batteries are able to hold an unloaded charge for an entire year without compromising service life. Because of its extremely low discharge rate and design that allows customers to self-install, Shorai’s LFX™ batteries are an ideal choice for seasonal purposes within the marine industry.

The annual Seattle Seafair Weekend will host the F1-PROP Tour (Graham Trucking Cup) in addition to the H1 Unlimited Hydroplane Racing (Albert Lee Appliance Cup), Boeing Air Show, Hyperlite Wakeboard Experience, entertainment and more. Attendees are invited to enjoy live music, food vendors and interactive booths in the park.
