Yamaha Announces 2015 Viking SxS

With class-leading cab room and comfort, and superior handling and off-road capabilities, the Viking is a tough and hardworking utility-based vehicle that is also fun to drive. Yamaha’s 2015 Viking is a three-person SxS vehicle featuring a driver-directed four-wheel drive system, the industry’s most durable and reliable automatic transmission, and the most natural feeling electric power steering (EPS).

CYPRESS, Calif. – August 19, 2014 – Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., has launched a new Viking VI “Build Your Own” (BYO) site providing customers the opportunity to personalize and accessorize their vehicle online. Current and potential Viking VI customers can now see what their customized machine might look like via an interactive site at www.YamahaViking.com. Yamaha currently has more than fifty accessories for the Viking VI, which is the only true six-person Side-by-Side (SxS) vehicle with full utility and off-road capabilities. The new 2015 Viking VI model was announced in June 2014 and production is now in full swing with vehicles being delivered to dealers across the country. “The Viking VI is a incredibly versatile machine made for farmers, hunters and recreational enthusiasts,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s ATV and SxS group marketing manager. “Yamaha is helping customers personalize their vehicles with Genuine Yamaha Accessories that are developed in tandem with the vehicle to ensure the highest quality, durability and performance standards along with the best fit and finish.”

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that Side-by-Sides are taking over the off road vehicle industry. Everywhere you look on the trails, the dunes, and even on the road, you see big, wide wheelbases and roll cages. In fact, SxS sales are carrying some manufacturers through tough financial times, and the manufacturers with the most going for them right now, not coincidentally, have at least one SxS model in their lineup.

CYPRESS, Calif. – August 14, 2014 – Yamaha Racing’s Chad Wienen captured a historic third straight AMA Pro ATV MX Series Championship last weekend, and his Yamaha and Wienen Motorsports teammate Thomas Brown took third overall for the season. The pair have been riding their YFZ450Rs to the top of the podium all season capping 2014 with first and third place finishes at the finale at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., on Saturday, August 9. Wienen scored 1-2 on the day for an overall win, while Brown grabbed 2-3 giving him third overall at Loretta’s. "The 2014 season was one to remember – the entire Wienen Motorsports Yamaha Team worked in sync,” Wienen said. “We were able to accomplish big results this year by winning eight out of the nine rounds for our team. Yamaha has provided us with race-winning performance once again with the 2014 YFZ450R, and we are looking forward to the 2015 season aboard Yamaha again."

Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative Announces Second Quarter GRANT Awards

Funds and Equipment Awarded To Motorized and Outdoor Recreation Enthusiast Groups Committed To Protecting, Expanding and Improving OHV Access

CYPRESS, Calif. – August 12, 2014 – Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., today announced it is contributing more than $65,000 in cash and equipment to eight GRANT (Guaranteeing Responsible Access to our Nation’s Trails) recipients under the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative.  The projects awarded GRANTs support the program’s industry-leading dedication to safe, responsible riding and open sustainable access to land, trails and riding areas for OHV users. “The OHV community is embracing the expanded platform of the Outdoor Access Initiative and we encourage all recreationists who rely on OHVs to access the outdoors to keep an eye out for projects that promote and protect that access,” said Mike Martinez, Yamaha’s ATV/SxS group Vice President.  “We recognize that by broadening the scope of the GRANT program, we increase competition for the funds available but, as a result, we expect to see projects that have a greater benefit to all OHV enthusiasts.”

Yamaha Outdoors Partners with Powderhook.com and NWTF to Giveaway

CYPRESS, Calif. – July 15 – Yamaha Outdoors has partnered with Powderhook and the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) to giveaway a new Grizzly 700 EPS 4x4 ATV and a Kansas whitetail hunt at www.powderhook.com/atv. The winner of the online sweepstakes will receive Yamaha’s best-selling Grizzly 700 4x4 ATV with electric power steering and a 6-day archery rut hunt organized by Powderhook and NWTF and provided by Horseshoe Hill Outfitters. Yamaha Raises $15,000 for Charities at Dealer Event

CYPRESS, Calif. – June 19, 2013 – Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., is donating $15,000 to two of the company’s charitable organization partners: Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) and Feed the Children (FTC). Yamaha recently gathered select motorsports dealers for an incentive and appreciation event near Austin, Texas, where the company unveiled the all-new 2015 Viking VI EPS six-person Side-by-Side (SxS) vehicle. The launch event-turned-celebration of Yamaha’s SxS line expansion included a number of activities that ultimately allowed Yamaha corporate staff and dealers to help raise awareness and money for HAVA and FTC. As a result of the event, Yamaha committed to donating $15,000 to be split evenly between the two organizations.
