Yamaha Volunteers Complete OHV Project in San Bernardino National Forest

Three-Year Project Restores Popular Staging and Riding Areas near Big Bear, Calif.
CYPRESS, Calif. – October 1, 2013 – Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., volunteers completed a three-year project at one of the nation’s most popular multi-use off-highway vehicle (OHV) staging areas located in the San Bernardino National Forest (SBNF).As part of the Yamaha OHV Access Initiative and with support of the Southern California Mountains Foundation’s (SCMF) OHV program, volunteers gathered recently for a final round of planting, cleaning and maintaining the popular Cactus Flats staging area and surrounding trails. This was the final project in a three-year commitment by Yamaha to help restore Cactus Flats and save the staging area from misuse and erosion.  Thanks to the combined efforts and critical work done by the SCMF and SBNF – and including the Yamaha volunteer projects – Cactus Flats is no longer at risk and is back to its old self as one of the premier staging areas in the forest.

2013 Yamaha’s Brown Wins AMA ATV MX Finale on YFZ450R

CYPRESS, Calif. – August 15, 2013 – Finishing a very strong 2013 season, Yamaha’s Thomas Brown took his first ever AMA Pro ATV win atop his YFZ450R this past weekend at the 2013 season finale at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Chad Wienen, who won his first AMA Pro ATV Championship aboard his YFZ450R last year, was second overall at the series finale after securing his second consecutive championship the previous round.  The strong showing by both riders all season long also helped Yamaha secure its second AMA Pro ATV Manufacturer’s title.

CYPRESS, Calif. – August 1, 2013 – Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., the industry leader in Guaranteeing Responsible Access to our Nation’s Trails (GRANTs), today announces the recipients of the second quarter GRANT awards from its OHV Access Initiative.   This funding cycle contributed more than $62,000 to projects supporting safe, responsible riding and open, sustainable OHV access to trails and riding areas.

CYPRESS, Calif. – July 30, 2013 – Yamaha Racing congratulates Chad Wienen for clinching his second consecutive AMA Pro ATV championship this past weekend aboard his Yamaha YFZ450R.“Consistency was key starting from my YFZ450R running amazing all year long helping me get great starts and having zero mechanical failures to secure back-to-back Championships,” Wienen said.  “Working hard and never giving up helped me get where I am at today.  I never would have thought two years ago I would come back from a season-ending back injury and win back-to-back titles.  It feels surreal right now but will sink in someday.  Now to the season finale and on to working towards a three-peat!”

Yamaha Ships First VIKING Side-by-Side Vehicles

Yamaha Executives Commemorate All-New Model at US Production Plant
NEWNAN, Ga. – July 25, 2013 – Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., has started shipping the first Viking Side-by-Side vehicles from its U.S. manufacturing facility in Newnan, Georgia, and company executives recently held a special event there to celebrate the all-new vehicle and increased U.S. production. Every Yamaha Viking distributed throughout the United States and around the world will come from Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America (YMMC).  To handle the increased production, the factory has opened a second plant that is dedicated to the Viking and future SxS models.
