2025 YAMAHA ATVs: PRECISION & performance

2025 YAMAHA ATVs: PRECISION & performance

While side-by-sides offer their own excitement, nothing quite beats the thrill of riding an ATV. Yamaha, a pioneer in ATV technology, understands this perfectly. Their 2025 ATV lineup caters to riders of all ages and interests, with a new youth model and exceptional options for sport, recreation, and utility.  Whatever your off-road adventure, there is a Yamaha ATV that can deliver it.

FIRST RIDE – LIFELONG ADVENTURE

Most riders catch the off-road bug on their first ATV adventure, most often on a sport machine.  These freedom machines can take you anywhere, igniting a lifelong passion. Yamaha gets it – the first ATV you learn on creates a love for the sport and loyalty to the brand.  Its exactly why sport ATVs are so important in a lineup.

The 2025 Yamaha ATV lineup includes a new model for youth riders.  Last year the Raptor 110 was introduced to the sport segment, and this year Yamaha is introducing the utility-based Grizzly 110.

A NEW CUB – THE GRIZZLY 110

The Grizzly 110 is a smaller version of the full-sized Grizzly models and is designed for riders 10 years old and up.   It boasts a 112cc, fuel-injected, four-stroke engine with a CVT transmission.  Yamaha’s decision to equip the Grizzly 110 with electronic fuel injection significantly improves starting, and the electric start makes it even more convenient.  While the shocks offer 5-position adjustability, the short A-arms limit suspension travel to approximately 5 inches in the front and 5.7 inches in the rear. Despite this, the Grizzly 110 remains an excellent adventure machine for young riders. Yamaha’s youth lineup also includes the sporty Raptor 110 and YFZ50 models.  Theres a miniature Yamaha for every miniature rider.

READY TO PLAY – THE 2025 YAMAHA SPORT ATVs

We love riding practically any ATV, but our all-time favorites and the ones that deliver the most thrills are all Yamaha Sport machines.  Nothing tops powering up hills or slinging a huge roost in the dunes aboard a Raptor 700.  The Raptor delivers immense power from a 686cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine ever cradled in a hybrid steel and aluminum chassis.  The chassis is designed to be both light and to flex as needed so as not to beat up the rider on all-day rides.  A long travel chassis with fully adjustable suspension lets you dial in the shocks to exactly your preference, and the engine produces enormous torque right off idle, transitioning into a fat mid-range, and monstrous top-end.  You can lug it through corners, stab at the throttle, and easily lift the front wheels.  The Raptor 700 is also extremely comfortable and the riding position is slightly more upright than the championship winning YFZ 450.  For 2025 there are three versions of the Raptor 700 which are:

  • RAPTOR 700 – The basic Raptor 700.  All the thrills and power, and ready for accessories to create the perfect machine for you.  Color is Armor Grey.  $9,699 MSRP
  • RAPTOR 700R – Hhigh and low-speed compression fully adjustable shocks, Maxxis tires, and Yamaha Diagnostic Tool-ready. Team Yamaha Blue color.  $10,299 MSRP
  • RAPTOR 700R SE – The King of the hill Raptor, with top-of-the-line shocks featuring piggyback reservoirs, high/low-speed compression, rebound and threaded preload adjustment.  Color is Acid Green.  $10,899* MSRP

Yamahas YFZ is our second all-time favorite ATV.  It’s a weapon on the track, and so easy to ride it practically finds its own way to the checkered flag.  Seating position is slightly lower than the Raptor 700, but it’s ideal for charging down the track or through whoops.  The YFZ450R is powered by a 449-cc fuel-injected engine, titanium five-valve cylinder head, and a lightweight aluminum frame with long travel, pro level suspension for excellent handling.  Its advanced suspension and assist-and-slipper clutch enhance performance and cornering speed. The Yamaha YFZ 450R is the best track ATV ever built.

So, what’s our third pick as one of the best ATVs ever built?  That’s the now discontinued Raptor 250.  They’re simple, reliable, and a joy to ride.  It’s our pick as the best ATV ever for new riders, and arguably the best ATV ever built.  If you can find one, scoop it up!  Our only disappointment is not having a 2025 model in the lineup.  Yamaha, get back to work!  The lineup isn’t complete!

READY FOR WORK or PLAY- THE GRIZZLY and KODIAK ATVs

Power, precision, and versatility collide in the 2025 Yamaha Grizzly and Kodiak 700 ATVs. Both beasts boast a liquid-cooled, 700cc heart, but their personalities diverge. The Grizzly reigns supreme as Yamaha’s ultimate utility/recreation machine, while the Kodiak lineup offers a more focused workhorse experience with the Kodiak 700, but also a capable 450cc option.

Suspension, features, and size set the Grizzly and Kodiak models apart.  The Grizzly, with its plusher suspension and extra bells and whistles, is built for unlimited adventure. The Kodiak, though simpler, excels in tight spaces thanks to its nimbler frame. Both, however, deliver comfort, reliability, and impressive hauling and towing capabilities.

The 2025 Yamaha Grizzly and Kodiak both feature 700-class, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engines.  Comfortable seats, excellent ergonomics, supremely reliable engines and CVT systems, good hauling and towing capacity, and suspension that handles rough trails easily are common traits.  They’re equally equipped with Yamaha’s reliable Ultramatic CVT transmission with a 10-Year Belt Warranty and On-Command 4WD system. The Kodiak is usually priced slightly less than the Grizzly, depending on how each is outfitted.  For 2025, both models get an all-new EPS system, featuring increased electrical power and variable torque-assist.  It makes all day rides a breeze, and takes away any harsh feedback on choppy, rough terrain.

The Grizzly lists at a $10,399 MSRP, with enhanced Camo, XT-R, and Special Edition trims available.  The 2025 Kodiak 450 starts at $6,399 MSRP, and the Kodiak 700 begins at $7,899 MSRP.  Additional Kodiak trims are available with optional EPS and Special Edition packages, and there is a long list of accessories for both.
