WOLVERINE FAMILY

Yamaha offers two new 2025 Wolverine RMAX4 1000 models: the Limited and the WT-R. Both share many features, but there are differences, the most noticeable being shocks and instrumentation.  The RMAX4 Limited comes with FOX 2.0 iQS shocks, which allow the driver to change shock settings on the fly from a dash switch.  The RMAX4 WT-R gets FOX QS3 shocks.  A Warn winch is standard on both the RMAX4 1000 models, and they ride on 14” aluminum wheels shod with Maxxis Carnivore tires.

Both new RMAX4 1000 models are outfitted with Yamaha’s Adventure Pro System with a full-color seven-inch display neatly wrapped into the dash.  This system offers Bluetooth, USB connectivity, navigation, phone and audio controls, GPS mapping, and more. The Limited model goes a step further with a rearview camera and a beautiful TFT full-color display above the steering wheel.

The 2025 Yamaha Wolverine RMAX4 1000 models join the existing Wolverine lineup, now renamed the RMAX4 1000 COMPACT.  Despite being 27.5 inches shorter, the COMPACT models have undergone significant upgrades to enhance performance and comfort.  Both the RMAX4 Compact and RMAX2 1000 benefit from the Adventure Pro Display, upgraded HAYES brakes, a new TFT display, and Turf Mode.

ULTRAMATIC – ULTRA RELIABLE ENGINE and TRANSMISSION

Yamaha tapped their proven 999cc DOHC eight-valve parallel-twin engine for the RMAX4 1000’s. The engine cranks out excellent power throughout the RPM range, providing the muscle for any task.  Top speed is approximately 70 mph depending on terrain and tires.  To harness this power, Yamaha employs its Ultramatic CVT transmission.

Yamaha’s unwavering confidence in the durability of its CVT system is evident in the RMAX4 1000’s unprecedented belt warranty.  While some competitors are lucky to get 10 hours out of a belt, Yamaha offers a decade of coverage.  The system also incorporates all-wheel engine braking, but Yamaha has taken a distinct approach to power delivery.

Both 2025 Yamaha Wolverine RMAX4 1000 models feature Yamaha D-Mode, a three-position selectable drive system.  From a dash switch, drivers can choose from Crawl, Trail, or Sport modes for optimal performance.  Crawl mode is ideal for challenging conditions like rock crawling or dense woods, while Trail mode offers standard power delivery for casual trail riding.  For high-speed thrills across open dunes or desert, Sport mode provides instant throttle response.  That’s not the only selectable system however.

Yamaha pioneered Electronic Power Steering (EPS) in the powersports industry with the Grizzly 700 ATV.  The RMAX4 1000 takes EPS to the next level with a three-mode selectable system.  Drivers can choose from LOW, STANDARD, or HIGH assist levels to match their preferences and terrain.  LOW provides minimal input, but maximum feedback and feel from the wheels and trail, STANDARD provides a balanced feel, and HIGH delivers maximum steering assist.

CREW COMFORT – EXCELLENT FIT AND FINISH

Comfort was paramount in the RMAX4 1000’s design, and Yamaha’s styling team knocked it out of the park.  This vehicle exudes quality, from its comfortable, supportive seats to the seamlessly integrated body panels with smooth transitions and tight seams.  Every touchpoint has been considered, with soft padding and carefully sculpted surfaces.  The Adventure Pro system fits flawlessly into the stylish dash, and there’s plenty of room for accessory switches.  Even rear passengers are treated to ample legroom and dedicated storage.  They even get their own USB charging station!  The RMAX4 1000’s interior is a testament to Yamaha’s attention to detail, and very well done.

WOLVERINE RMAX4 VERSATILITY

Built for adventure, the 2025 Yamaha Wolverine RMAX4 1000 is as capable on the trail as it is at the campsite.  The dumping rear cargo bed can handle up to 600 pounds of gear, firewood, or coolers, making it perfect for weekend getaways.  And with a 2-inch receiver hitch rated for 2,000 pounds, towing supplies for your next expedition is a breeze.
